These nicely restored vacation rental apartments lie within a 12th century convent near both Florence and Chianti. A friendly welcome and easy access to tourist attractions make this an excellent vacation base in Tuscany.
The owners bought the house in 1996. With old wine cellars and vaults built onto the rocks, and nestling amidst hillside olive groves, this was the typical Tuscan farmhouse even down to the livestock.
Some years and a lot of hard work later, the house has been renovated using a mix of Florentine restoration traditions, age-old local techniques, and the latest eco-building ideas.
The house has been remodelled into two charming apartments, both sleeping 2 to 5 people. Each has two bathrooms and an equipped kitchen. Each apartment has its own entrance and a private outside space as well as a communal garden.
Apartments Il Contadino and Sant'Antonio each sleep two to five,
and range from €350 to €450 for 2 people, and from €650 to
€780 for 4/5 people. For short stays prices are €70 per day for 2 people,
€120 for 4 people. There is a cot available free of charge, and all prices
include taxes and a welcome hamper of breakfast ingredients. Heating is charged
by usage. From 2 - 8 July and from 22 - 28 July there is a discount
of 15%.
There are lovely gardens, but venture further and you'll discover a host of great walks nearby and miles of wonderful landscape. Yet this Tuscan holiday accommodation lies just 14km from the centre of Florence and 30km from Siena, Lucca and Pisa. The Chianti region is just 10km away.
