On the last Sunday of every month the market becomes larger, the ranks swelled by about 100 further stalls, spreading into the streets surrounding the Piazza.

Palazzo Ciompi is in the heart of the old city, about 150m from the square of Santa Croce, 350m from Piazza del Duomo, and about 500m from Via Tornabuoni, the most famous and exclusive shopping street in Florence.
