Just minutes away from the Pisa to Florence motorway, yet set atop a wooded hill within a private estate, sits Casa Vacanze Paternino. This country house - near the town of Montespertoli, in the province of Florence - is divided into five holiday apartments, and gives magnificent 360° panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside.
[ local map | map of region ]The beauty of the exterior is complemented by the traditional comfort of the apartments themselves. All are tastefully furnished in the old Tuscan country house style, with wood beamed ceilings, tiled floors, restored wooden doors and country furniture. But no compromise is made on modern comforts. All of the apartments have satellite TV, independent heating and at least one private bathroom with shower. Each also has an accessorised kitchen, with modern stainless steel appliances, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher and safe box. All the apartments are beautifully lit, set over two floors, and have even been planned with an eye to the environment, using only natural fabrics and organic paints.
The first, Aliseo, sleeps up to eight people. This very spacious apartment comprises a living/dining room with lovely fireplace; kitchen; a sitting room with double sofabed and TV; a bathroom with shower; two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom; and two further bathrooms on the first floor. Aliseo has its own private outdoor area, complete with garden furniture.
Libeccio sleeps up to four. The living/dining room has a cooking corner, and also on the ground floor you'll find a bathroom with shower. The first floor has a double room and one single room with a fold-down chair-bed. There are two further bathrooms with showers. Libeccio also has a private outdoor area with garden furniture.
Maestrale sleeps four. This apartment has a dining room with cooking corner, a living room with a fireplace, and a ground-floor bathroom with shower. Upstairs you'll find a double room with a lovely verandah, a twin bedroom and two further bathrooms with showers. Again, the apartment has its own private outdoor area with garden furniture.
Tramontana is another big apartment, sleeping up to eight people. The dining room has a cooking corner, there is a living room with a fireplace, and a further sitting room with double sofabed and TV. Also on the ground floor, you'll find a bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor area complete with garden furniture. On the first floor are two double rooms, one twin-bedroom and two bathrooms with showers.
