You will find yourself in the Caffe Pasticceria, Rivoire, which is a café, confectionery and a chocolate factory. Let your taste buds explore a range of the much sought-after chocolates.
Take a walk around the Piazza della Signoria, Florence and stop off at the gazebo-like Loggia dei Lanzi, with its Gothic architecture and ancient statues, which include Benvenuto Cellini’s Perseus holding up the head of Medusa. Stand in the Piazza della Signoria, near your Palazzo Ristori apartment and look up at the powerful equestrian statue of Cosimo I. Close to the statue of Cosimo, you will find a round marble plaque which marks the spot where Fra Girolamo Savonarola was burnt at the stake. Stroll through this unique square to Palazzo Vecchio and see the replica of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ and a replica of Bandinelli’s ‘Hercules and Cacus’, as symbols of the triumph of the Medicis over their enemies. On your left, you will see the famous ‘Marzocco’ and ‘Judith and Holfernes’ by Donatello and a host of celebrated sculptures.
