This Italian holiday villa dates back to the 17th century, and nestles in the countryside of Tuscany between the small town of Vinci and the nearby house where Leonardo da Vinci himself was born.
[ local map | map of Tuscany ]Sitting on the hillside of Anchiano, the house overlooks the valley of Lucca, the hills of Cerreto Guidi and of San Miniato, and the mediaeval town of Vinci itself, with its links to the greatest master of the Italian Renaissance.
On the crest of a hill, surrounded by olive groves, the estate comprises a manor house, with two charming annexes which were previously a barn and hayloft. These have been carefully restored by the owners, with painstaking care to retaining the original features of the rural Tuscan style.
The setting is quite lovely, with the extensive grounds of the villa beautifully cared for, rich in Mediterranean plants and flowers, and with plenty of garden furniture for you to relax in - you'll enjoy a generous breakfast here each day too. You have a stunning swimming pool to enjoy, this measures 7 x 10 metres and is equipped with hydro-massage features. Around the pool is a large area for sunbathing, and this has dramatic views over the tranquil town of Vinci. If you want to be more energetic, then the area has plenty of trails for trekking and mountain biking.
Apartment Torre sleeps 2+2. This charming studio apartment has picture windows, letting you enjoy the fine views of the surrounding hills. It covers approximately 36 square metres and sits above the pool area. There is a kitchen area, dining area and a bathroom with shower. The apartment has TV (not satellite), air conditioning and central heating. The kitchen has a hob, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.
