These Tuscany holiday rentals lie near the Roveta woods, on the hills south west of Florence. Farmhouse San Vincenzo a Torri is in country of stunning beauty, amid vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees and forests. The past and present live side by side, with old villas, hamlets and farms standing as they have for centuries.
The hamlet of San Vincenzo lies at the heart of a 40-hectare farm estate. It was originally built next to a lake (now dry), which supplied water to the 16th century mill (still standing).
The apartments have recently been reconstructed with absolute care and attention to detail ... the demand was to preserve the antique feel and flavour of the old Tuscan farmhouse. The owners were determined to combine the maximum comfort for guests, while keeping the character of the building intact. So you will still see cypress wood beams, brick archways, old chestnut fireplaces and stone steps.
Furnishings have also been carefully selected. There are original beds and wardrobes, and the chests of drawers in the bedrooms were built by 19th century carpenters. The kitchen tables have marble tops, and all the cupboards and small items of furniture are built by craftsmen. For the perfect finishing touch, upholstery and curtains have been selected to reflect the shades and flavours of the Tuscan countryside.
The seven holiday flats that make up the estate each have private outdoor areas, with tables and chairs for you to enjoy your meals al fresco. The swimming pool lies in a wide-open space shaded by tall trees. There is estate-made produce for you to buy, including vin santo, white and red wine and olive oil. From Monday to Saturday you can have groceries delivered direct to you by 12.30; simply place your order by phone before 10 o'clock with the local grocers.
Five of the flats have private gardens while L’Orcio has a private area on the courtyard, and La Terrazza a sizable terrace with terrific views over the fields and hills. All the apartments lie next to the farm and cellar.
Il Fienile has a floor area of 104m² and sleeps 5+2 guests. Lying on the ground and first floors, it has a private garden. This apartment is in the old hayloft of the Fattoria. The ground floor has a kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining room and a living room with fireplace. On the first floor is a double bedroom with a private bathroom, a twin bedded room, a single bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
