The surroundings of the estate are marvellous, with the oak trees alternating with the cultivated fields of the farms and Monte Amiata visible from everywhere. Indeed, the name Civettaio derives from the owl or civetta, who nest in numbers here, and who you will hear hooting in the night!
The house is in a superb position for discovering Tuscany. It's 20 minutes by car to Montalcino and the magnificent Abbey of San Antimo; half an hour to the sea and the beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia; 25km to Grosseto and 35km to Siena.

The house is on the Montecucco Wine Road. Following it leads you to discover farm after farm ... and the real agrarian spirit of this beautiful land.
