Accommodation in Italy - Tuscany - Villa Montaperto is situated in the heart of the Maremma region, sitting 600m above sea level. It lies 1km from the village of Castell’Ottieri.
This bed and breakfast holiday villa lies just a few minutes away from the ancient Etruscan towns of Sovana, Pitigliano and Sorano, rising upon escarpments of volcanic tufa rock; today’s Tuscany is built on the Etrurian civilisation of the tenth to third centuries BC. Wherever you look, you notice the magnificence of Tuscany, where man lives with nature. In the south of Tuscany, the Maremma combines the green of the pinewoods, the magical atmosphere of mediaeval towns and the reflections of dappled sunlight upon the Mediterranean.
Arriving at Villa Montaperto you will be met by your host, Giancarlo Ripà. This internationally famed fashion designer dramatically changed his lifestyle four years ago. Moving to the Tuscan countryside, he poured his years of experience of fine cooking, expertise in wine and love of entertaining into the villa ... establishing a bed and breakfast within his country home.
Villa Montaperto has three double rooms, one for three guests and one for four. There is a large porch, a big terrace, a dining room with a fireplace and a large garden.
In addition there is the ‘dependence’, an apartment of some 160m². On the first floor is a dining room with a large fireplace and a double bed; there are two double rooms, a bathroom, terrace and baby’s cot available. Downstairs, there is a dining room, a single bed and an entrance to the 800m² private garden. The apartment has a kitchen and fireplace.
Great care was taken to retain the period atmosphere of this country house. The furniture and fittings were chosen to maintain the old world feel and yet provide practical comfort. The results are pretty rooms with every modern convenience. There is ample parking for guests.
The double room with bathroom, terrace, fridge and TV, ranges from EURO €35 to €40 per person per night, depending on the season. Weekly rental of the ‘dependence’ (Saturday to Saturday) ranges from €540 to €760. Heating, if required, is €250 a week and cleaning €10 per person.
