Italy accommodation - In Tuscany's Upper Maremma, 10 spacious holiday apartments sit within fields of sunflowers, rows of vines and olive trees. Here, within its own farmland, lies Il Poggiarello.
This is a farmhouse holiday, allowing you to make contact with the surrounding wild and unspoiled landscape. The farmhouse dates back to the 1700s, and has been carefully renovated in sympathy with its original layout and architecture.
The 10 vacation apartments are all furnished with traditional Tuscan furniture, and each has a kitchenette, a bathroom with shower, and heating.
Views from the apartments include centuries-old cork tree woods, huge pines and hills covered with perfumed scrub. Strolling along the juniper-bordered paths is one of the relaxing activities at Il Poggiarello. Guests with more energy can enjoy hikes through the woods, cycling or a dip in the pool. There is also a lovely terrace, an ancient well and a playpark for the children.
All prices are weekly, from Saturday to Saturday, with arrival after 4pm and departure before 10am. Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning are included in the price. There is a cot for infants in each apartment, and the swimming pool is open between 15 May and 30 September.
Apartment La Scaletta lies on the first floor, sleeping two. It contains a living/dining-room with kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Prices range from EURO €495 to €775 per week depending on the season.
Le Volticine sleeps 5+1 guests on the ground floor, with its own entrance from the garden. The flat has a large dining room with kitchen and single sofa bed, a double room plus one single bed, a bathroom with shower, one bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom with shower. The apartment also has a private garden. Prices range from €700 to €1140 depending on the season.
