In the heart of the Maremma, by the river Ombrone, situated between Montalcino and the thermal springs of Petriolo, you'll find the Agriturismo Piani di Stiaccia.
It is only 40 km from Siena, and the bright lights of Florence are under two hours drive away, with the beaches of Castiglion della Pescaia, or Marina di Alberese and the Parco Naturale della Maremma lying to the south.
Closer to home there are many places to discover, with the mediæval town of Montalcino well worth exploring. Its millenia long history is crammed within its walls; winding streets snake through the ancient stone structures and lead up to the castle. The town stands on a hill wreathed in vineyards and olive groves, and the town is known for the fine wines it produces.
The property is just outside the village of Monte Antico, which also produces some fine Tuscan vinages from its vineyards, and between the castles of Casenovole and Villa Banfi.
The Agriturismo consists of two apartments which have been carefully furnished to reflect the local character of the region. Both apartments have a similar layout and have central heating.
They consist of a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to make the most of the wonderful food that Tuscany is rightly famous for, a dining area, two comfortable and spacious double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, a television and a telephone. A garden area is provided, equipped with sun beds for you sit back and enjoy the gloriously warm days and the balmy Tuscan evenings. In addition there is a traditional wood burning Pizza oven in the garden for you to explore the delights of the real Italian pizza experience.
If you wish to explore the surrounding countryside there are mountain bikes available for you to keep fit, as well as for use in discovering what this amazing land has to offer.
