Villa Camelia has a fully enclosed garden, a patchwork of sun and shade with two tables for outside meals, a barbecue and a pizza oven. A play-area for small children is equipped with a swing, slide and hammock — all shaded by fig, loquat, apple and plum trees.
A new two-tier swimming pool (16x5m) lies just below the villa. Finished in marbellite, it consists of a shallow wading pool (4x5m) which cascades into the deeper 12x5m pool. The pool, which is surrounded by travertino stone tiles, has a patio at one end for sunbathing, a shower and deck chairs, all set in green lawns.

The nearest shopping facilities are in the village of San Martino in Freddana (4km). San Martino has a wide range of services including a small supermarket, post office, bank, tobacconist, newsagents, doctor, petrol station, two bars, grocers and much more. The area also boasts several excellent, typical Tuscan restaurants.
Another major attraction is the nearby provincial capital of Lucca, a wonderful little city of narrow, winding, paved streets. Protected by its ancient walls (among the finest examples in Europe), the city has managed to resist most of the ravages of modern architecture and tourism. The centre is largely pedestrianised and is a marvellous place to explore on foot, dining in one of several top class restaurants, stocking up on holiday souvenirs and clothes, or exploring the many churches and palaces.
If you want to see more of Tuscany and central Italy, the location is perfect.
The villa is 30 minutes from the Versilian coastline with its fine sandy
beaches and only 20 minutes from Lucca. Lucca has superb transport links
(motorway, rail and bus) and is within easy day-tripping distance of Florence,
Chianti, Pisa, the sub-Alpine parks of the Garfagnana and the cliffside
villages of the Cinque Terre.
