La Cappella, a striking country house in the hills outside Lucca, was originally built in the 17th century as a convent. The house enjoys marvellous panoramic views of the countryside towards Lucca, as does the large swimming pool and terrace in front of it. Painstakingly restored and refurbished, it now offers holiday flats and B&B accommodation in a stylish, traditional setting.
The heart of this Tuscan country house is the big hall - a bright sprawling room with beamed ceilings and comfortable furniture. Here you can read or listen to music, and take the opportunity to meet other guests. The other main communal area is the central dining room where you can taste homemade jams and other typical Tuscan produce.

The holiday rental accommodation consists of nine bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Five of the rooms make up the three self-catering flats, while the others are available separately. Each of the rooms has scenic views over the valley or of the garden and nearby woods.
The accommodation throughout is airy and bright, simply but traditionally furnished in a comfortable style. Please read on for a description of the holiday flats, some maps and a description of the surrounding area.
