This villa in Tuscany - a vacation rental near Lucca, Italy - lies just eight kilometres from the medieval walls of the lovely city of Lucca itself.
Al Casino dei Papi is in San Concordio di Moriano. There are stretches of the approach road that are narrow and steep, but once you arrive it's well worth it!. A small, rural house of some 90 square metres over two floors, it is laid out as follows. The ground floor is an open-plan area with kitchen corner, fireplace, living and dining areas. The first floor has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, and a bathroom with a bathtub.
The house was built about a hundred years ago, but was renovated in 2006. The renovation has preserved the old typical Lucchese features. There are exposed stone walls (even the bathtub), terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. The house has all sorts of modern comforts. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave oven, kettle, American coffee machine (plus mocha coffee maker), toaster, dishwasher and washing machine.

The furnishings have been made by hand by local artisans. The wooden bedsteads have been finished by an upholsterer. The closets are handmade by a carpenter. Originally the house was for four guests, but five would fit with ease. There is a baby cot, a small bed for children, and an extra bed for adults can be added.

This villa in Tuscany has a terraced garden over several levels which surrounds the house completely. The first level provides a terrace with table, chairs and an umbrella; there is a wood oven and barbecue built-in. The lower level offers a swimming pool (10 x 5 metres) surrounded by a lawn. There is a cold/warm shower and sunbeds with umbrellas. The views are outstanding and the venue very peaceful. Behind the house there’s a spacious parking area.
