Set in Rocca, Borgo a Mozzano, Media Valle, in Tuscany’s Lucca region, the house is very private in a delightfully scenic location. Yet here you are just minutes from shops and restaurants, half an hour from Lucca.
This Tuscany villa has been recently restored using all original materials to retain the atmosphere of a typical Tuscan farmhouse, and equipped with many modern appliances and features to ensure it is extremely comfortable, winter and summer alike. Furnished throughout with antiques, it stands in its landscaped grounds of about 3 acres. There is a large pool, a formal garden, a wild flower area, olive groves, orchard, woodland area, croquet lawn, barbecue area etc. November to April is the ski season at the resort of Abetone, about one hour's drive away.
The city of Lucca lies on a flat plain only a few miles inland from the Mediterranean coastline. Immediately to the north of here, the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, divided by the river Serchio, tower above the plain. These hillsides are dotted with dozens of ancient villages which were usually located here as defensive positions which dominated the surrounding countryside, thereby discouraging surprise attacks. This means that most of them are today in magnificently scenic surroundings and have not been spoilt by over-development or tasteless modernisation. The village of Rocca and the hamlet of Pieve di Cerreto are the groups of houses nearest to Dolcevento; there are no modern houses nearby at all. Many more such villages can be explored within a very short time including the spa town of Bagni di Lucca, the cathedral town of Barga and the ski resort at Abetone.

During the summer meals may be served and eaten outside. A large barbecue is available in the outside eating area.
