Tuscany Bed and Breakfast– accommodation near Lucca, Italy

Villa in Tuscany, Dolcevento

Romantic privacy in the hills of Tuscany – this villa in Tuscany is a detached farmhouse with private pool, garden, terrace and a croquet lawn.

The house has three double, en suite guest bedrooms available but can accommodate a party of eight if required since one of the living rooms can be converted to a fourth, en suite bedroom. Moreover, the large, downstairs bedroom, which can be accessed by wheelchair to both the bedroom and the bathroom, has room for up to two additional single beds for children accompanying their parents. Two cots are also available for toddlers.

All three principal bathrooms have a full size bath tub with shower incorporated, WC and basin; two of them also have a bidet. The occasional fourth bathroom has a shower, WC and basin. Two of the bedrooms can be arranged either as queen size doubles or twins.

Supplementary facilities include a washing machine and ironing press with provision for outdoor and indoor clothes drying.

The house has two resident cats and is therefore unsuitable for those with an allergy to them.

The house has DVD, satellite/cable TV and broadband internet access. There is a large car parking area in the three acres of garden; there are garden chairs and loungers by the pool and a full size croquet lawn is available for guests’ enjoyment. A small, covered terrace overlooking the formal garden, an electric awning and a pergola by the pool all provide delightful, shady sitting areas. I bought the site because of its magnificent view, excellent privacy and tranquillity which all visitors in the past have found to be quite exceptional. For three years I rented the house for self-catering holidays through a British agency which regarded this property as their finest Italian rental.

Local activities include cycling, mountain biking, paragliding, tennis, walking, horse-riding near to Lucca and several golf courses (about an hour away).

Your host: “ I am an Englishman who has lived in Italy for the last 23 years after retiring from the RAF. I still work as a part-time property consultant having run my own real estate agency here for 16 years. I bought and restored Dolcevento to my own living standards, not to a price. You will be welcome to consult me at any time before and during your stay. I will ensure that you receive directions to the house and will advise you on where to rent a car if needed. There will be plenty of guidance available over restaurants, sights to see, places to go to, etc. Otherwise, you will be left to enjoy your stay without disturbance.
