The house is just 700m from the beach on the Versilian Riviera. And in nearby Forte dei Marmi you are greeted by an impressive backdrop, the long, white, sandy beach backed by the Apuan Alps. Michelangelo selected his blocks of marble from the quarries here, but Forte dei Marmi is now better known as a bathing resort - one of the most famous beaches in Tuscany, where the rich have their summer villas and mix with the many visitors. This beach has every imaginable comfort: sun loungers, umbrellas, changing huts, showers and restaurants. The coast has countless restaurants (with fish a specialty), while in the mountains behind, you will find restaurants specialising in meat and mushroom dishes.
Those looking for empty beaches will find them 1400m away. Lovers of hidden rocky shores will need to drive further south but the journey is soon covered along the Via Aurelia. One of the many benefits of this house is its location. It offers a wide range of options: a lively beach holiday near to an exclusive bathing resort; a short trip to the famous Tuscan art cities such as Florence and Lucca; and the romantic and peaceful mountain villages nestling among the Apuan Alps, with mountains towering 1000m above sea level.
Prato Grande is in a quiet, leafy residential area on the edge of Ronchi, 5km from Forte dei Marmi. The property is around 900sqm, with this delightful red house sitting in the midst of the gardens. The green shutters contrast well with the fresh red of the walls, and the house has a gravel parking place to the front (room for 5 vehicles). At the back of the house, you will find a large, neat lawn with several trees and flower beds. The property is fenced in and the garden is surrounded by a thick hedge - providing a secluded and private atmosphere. From the garden you have views of the Apuan Mountains. This property lies in a quiet area and the house is pleasantly cool during the hot summer months (all windows have shutters).
Guests can rent the main building only if they wish. Grande Prato has ample room for 6 (3 double rooms and 2 bathrooms). If you are travelling with a larger group, you can also rent the additional wing, which is almost the same size (room for 5 extra people - 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). This additional wing may only be taken together with Grande Prato. If this wing is not rented, the Florentine owners may spend a holiday there themselves, a maximum 4 people.
The two wings are autonomous of one another: they are both fully furnished and have separate entrances and seated outdoor areas. This holiday location is particularly suitable for 2 families travelling together. The individual outdoor areas are at a distance from one another and therefore provide a high level of privacy. Grande Prato has a lovely covered veranda with sofas and a large marble table along the long, garden side of the house. Views of the green lawn make this the ideal place to spend those long summer evenings. The additional wing has a seated area under a large linen umbrella at the side of the house. However, the marble table on the veranda has room for 10 people to enjoy a meal together - after which the two parties can retire to the privacy of their own quarters. The best of both worlds!
Grande Prato covers 100sqm. It has a living room with cane furniture (2 sofas each seating 2 people); a dining room with a round wooden table for 6 people; a kitchen with direct access to the garden; 3 double bedrooms; 2 bathrooms with showers (one bedroom is en suite, while the other two rooms share a bathroom); and a 50sqm veranda with furniture and marble table on the garden side of the house. Grande Prato is on the ground floor and is equipped with TV (regional reception), washing machine, clothes line and parking space for 3 cars.
The 75sqm additional wing has a living room; a kitchen-living room; a large double bedroom; a small three-bed room (suitable for children, although the beds are of normal length); 2 bathrooms with showers; a seated outdoor area with parasol at the side of the house. This wing is on two levels.
