Beautiful country house for sale close to Lucca in northern Tuscany with stunning views over the Serchio Valley and the Apuane mountains.
Our home is warm, welcoming and comfortable, but not excessive! It has only been sold once outside the Mattei family in the last several hundred years and that was to us in 1988. Gromignana is a quiet but friendly small village, with a thriving church and is a happy place to live. We hope that the next owners will enjoy it as much as we have over the last 20 years. Anyone who has spent any time in Italy will already know that a moderate ability in the language is infinitely rewarded in the pleasure of living here.

The house is plastered in Siena pink, with a vertical brass sun dial, a
trompe l’oeil window and trompe l’oeil stone surrounds. The floor
coverings are made from reclaimed terracotta tiles and the ceilings have the
original exposed beams. The cental heating is wood or gas fired and the chestnut
windows are double glazed. The house is maintained to a high standard.
