The ideal way to get around Lucca is by foot or bicycle. You can spend hours wandering through beautiful squares, visiting the cathedral or one of the dozen museums, or riding around the top of the city wall - a great way to see the town and its surroundings. Then relax in one of the dozens of superb bars, coffee shops and restaurants.

With the circumference of the walls being less than two miles, you realise that much is squeezed within a tiny area - a jumble of churches, Renaissance palazzi, piazzas and unexpected alleyways. There is the Duomo and of course the Amphitheatre.

Check in is on Saturdays from 3pm until 6pm, with departure by 10am on Saturday. Shorter stays are available with the minimum stay three nights. Included in your rental are linen and towels for one week, water, gas, electricity and final cleaning. At reservation you will be asked for a 35 per cent deposit, to be made by money transfer. You may cancel your reservation up to 30 days before arrival. The remainder of the bill should be paid on arrival. Please note that your hosts don't accept credit cards.
