The apartment is situated in the centro storico, the historic centre of town, and lies in Corte del Pesce overlooking Piazza Grande. The apartment is on the second floor of a typical Lucchese building, and measures around 60 square metres.
The apartment has been nicely restructured: the original floors in antique terracotta have been carefully maintained during the restoration, and the beamed ceilings are very high. The furnishings are stylish, elegant and extremely comfortable, with the predominant colours being pink and aquamarine.

The apartment is laid out as follows: entrance hall, a spacious living room with kitchenette, dining area and sitting room area with a single sofa bed; there is a TV and a small fireplace. The double bedroom has a very small balcony. The bathroom is very spacious with a hydro-massage shower. There is a small storage room, air conditioning, a washing machine, oven, microwave and toaster.
Lucca itself is an ancient city, dating back to pre-Roman times. The street plan of the town was largely laid out by the invading Romans, and survives to this day, and there is an intact Roman amphitheatre in the centre of town. The whole city is enclosed within a complete set of medieval defensive walls, along the tops of which run paths, trees and parklands — a perfect viewpoint from which to look down into the city below, and very popular with joggers, cyclists and walkers.
Henry James eulogised Lucca, describing it as ‘overflowing with everything that makes for easy, for plenty, for beauty, for interest’. And this elegant and relaxed city is certainly less bustling than Pisa or Florence ... this is a town in which to stroll, to shop, to view the fine Romanesque churches, and to relax with a cappuccino or a chilled glass of wine and simply take in the view.
