A marvellous villa rental in the Lucca countryside - Tenuta Villa Baggine is a beautifully realised barn conversion, which comfortably sleeps 6+2 guests.
Ten years ago this was an old Tuscan barn. Now, white upholstery everywhere create an atmosphere of luxury, comfort and cleanliness, which helps everyone feel immediately at home. Throughout the house, including the bathrooms, you will find old terracotta tiles: just close your eyes and you’ll feel its soft and warm touch under your bare feet…
The 30 square metre terrace is the ideal place for enjoying the gorgeous Tuscan countryside and its magnificent weather. To the west you will see the front lawn and on beyond the hedge of blooming oleander, the olive grove. Southwards you overlook the plains of Lucca and see the towers of the city.
From the terrace you enter both the kitchen and the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 90cm hob and oven, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, and an American coffee machine. There is a massive old chestnut table with raffia-covered chairs. An 18th century kitchen cupboard contains the crockery and kitchen utensils.
The sitting room has a beautiful 'intarsiato' olive wood table with eight chairs. A comfortable sofa with two armchairs and an ottoman nestle around the fireplace, framed in tiles from Vietri. Two huge glass windows offer the visitors a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. Proceeding into the house you find another small and very cosy sitting room with a sofa, two armchairs and a traditional chestnut chest of drawers. This room can easily sleep two extra guests. Opposite the small sitting room there is a twin bedroom with an 18th century Lucca-style decorated wardrobe.
In the downstairs bathroom, green tiles create a lovely atmosphere. It is also fully equipped for guests with disabilities. There is a boiler room and laundry: the heating system is housed in this room, also a washing machine and wash basin, iron and ironing board. There is a storage room for stowing your luggage out of the way. You'll find a sewing kit and first aid kit.
At the end of the downstairs corridor the stairs lead up to the first floor. Halfway up, a big window offers a romantic view of the hills with a 16th century stone bell tower emerging in the distance. The first bedroom has two single beds with antique Florentine upholstered headboards, and there is an en-suite bathroom. A beautiful wardrobe and matching chest of drawers offer guests all the necessary room for their clothes. The two beds can very easily be made into a double bed. The master bedroom has a sense of comfort and a relaxing atmosphere. Apart from the large double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, two beautiful little old-style armchairs are there to make it cosier. The master bathroom has an antique-style bathtub and fittings - and terrific views.
