Just 2km outside the walls of the mediaeval Tuscan city of Lucca, Al Tondone offers comfortable bed and breakfast holiday rooms in a friendly setting.

You have your choice of four spacious and comfortable bedrooms. All are beautifully bright, light and airy and have air conditioning. The double room with shared bathroom cost €60/65 (breakfast included). Extra bed is €20. Free coffee and tea during all day. Also a fridge is available.
And breakfast will provide a marvellous start to your day's sightseeing. Local produce - a selection of cheeses, cured meats and bruschetta - is served in the garden, on the terrace, or in the breakfast room. The gardens themselves are ideal for reading, resting, taking the sun … and for enjoying an early evening glass of prosecco after a rewarding day's holiday.

The house has private parking and bicycles are available to speed you into the lovely centre of Lucca.
This beautiful and ancient city is completely encircled by a monumental 15th century fortified wall - though Lucca is much older than that, being founded by the Romans back in 180BC. It's best explored by cycle or on foot. With its museums, churches, restaurants, bars and shops, all packed into narrow mediaeval streets which still follow the original Roman plan, you'll find yourself stopping frequently to explore unexpected streets and alleyways, to duck into cool and dark mediaeval churches.
