The apartments are in an old farmhouse on the Villa Ghiaia, in a beautiful setting of vineyards, olive groves and forest. There is a private garden (shared between the apartments) and access to the farm's swimming pool and tiled solarium.
The beaches of Versilia (20km) are a short drive away, and Lucca (18km) with its monumental walls shouldn't be missed. Boasting some of Europe's finest fortification, this walled city is a mediaeval maze of narrow, Romanesque churches and palaces which boasts some superb restaurants and outstanding shopping facilities.
Pisa (30km) with its leaning tower and airport is an obvious place to visit, but with excellent motorway/rail links from Lucca you can make easy excursions to Florence, Chianti, the coastal resorts and the alpine nature reserves. Guides and transport are available by arrangement.
