Bed and Breakfast Italy - This traditionally decorated country relais/hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation in Tuscany, a few kilometres from the beaches of Viareggio and the Versilian Riviera.

Villa Oliveto is a country relais lying between the beaches of Versilia and the town of Lucca. It lies on the slopes of a private hill, and looks down on the coast.

Guests have a choice of five double rooms, each different from the last, all of them with panoramic view.

The Yellow Room is on the first floor, has views onto the coast, as does its brand-new bathroom with shower. Like all the rooms, the Yellow Room is equipped has tea and coffe making facilities and is air conditioned.

The Green Room, also on the first floor, has views onto the coast, and has a bathroom with bathtub. The room is large and an extra bed can be put in.

The Blue Room, on the first floor, has views onto the orange and other fruit trees. Its new bathroom has a shower and views onto the olive grove. The room is large and an extra bed can be put in.

The Orange Room is on the second floor. It has views onto the coastline. Its new bathroom has a shower, and its covered terrace has a lovely view.

The Ethnic Room, on the second floor, has lovely views onto the coastline, whiles its new bathroom with shower looks down upon the olive trees. There is a large panoramic and covered terrace.

Facilities for guests include a spacious living room/-library, with satellite TV, internet point, wireless service and a 30sqm balcony with a terrific view on the Tyrrhenian coast. Here you can rest, relax, enjoy a book or a drink.

A large garden, with gazebo and tables, is perfect for enjoying the house's renowned breakfast in good weather. Only local produce is used, including marmalade, cheese, ham, and home-baked cakes. In the middle of the garden is the swimming pool, open from May to October. The pool uses a cutting edge ecological system of water cleansing. No chlorine, it instead uses salt water.

Villa Oliveto is surrounded by 8000sqm of grounds, lush with flowers and trees. The setting is ideal for excursions down to the beaches of the coast, as well as to many interesting towns nearby. The property is 6km from the sea at Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi. Viareggio is Tuscany's biggest resort: with its long avenue of palms lining the promenade, and its run of Liberty-style facades it has an atmosphere of old world elegance.

Prices at the villa, depending on the season, range from €45 to €65 per person, per night; breakfast and all the other services included.

The Red House or Rustico, within the grounds, sleeps 4+1 and can also be rented for short periods. Set among olive trees and beds of medicinal herbs, the accommodation has a spacious panoramic garden equipped with dining table, sun beds and chairs. There is also a patio, ideal for meals al fresco. The swimming pool, open from May-September, is shared with the guests of Villa Oliveto. The Rustico is an old house that has been restored and furnished according to Tuscan tradition. There is a living room, a kitchen, a large bathroom, two double bedrooms and a little studio with a fireplace. There are two patios on the ground floor. The views are over the Tuscan coast and the Apuan Alps. The accommodation is rented on a weekly basis at €900-€1600, depending on the season.
