Spend your holiday in Italy in these vacation apartments on the grounds of an Italian villa, near Lucca, Tuscany.
Villa Sofia has two apartments, both beautifully overlooking the Tuscan hills, and just a ten-minute walk to old Barga, with its restaurants and shops. The week’s rental starts and ends Saturday, starting at 2pm, checkout 10am. The airport at Pisa is 75 minutes from Barga – transfers can be arranged at a predetermined fee. Towels and linen are provided and there is free parking. Prices include electricity, cooking gas and final cleaning. Central heating costs are extra.
The first is Apartment Il Pozzo (the Wishing Well) a newly restored three-bedroom apartment (sleeps up to seven). Set in the grounds of Villa Sofia, with spectacular views across the Serchio Valley and Appenine Mountains, this apartment consists of two double bedrooms, a living room with fireplace (convertible to a comfortable third bedroom) a modern kitchen/dining room, new shower/toilet, laundry facility, additional outdoor toilet, private garden area with barbecue, and use of the villa's pool. Weekly rental is EURO €600 - €1000.

The second of these vacation apartments on the grounds of an Italian villa, near Lucca, Tuscany is Apartment Bella Vista (the View). A newly renovated, private studio apartment with a large terrace on the grounds of Villa Sofia, this cosy flat sleeping two plus infant enjoys complete privacy. There is a large terrace, with dining table and barbecue, overlooking the mountains and with access to the villa's gardens and swimming pool. A brand new, well-equipped kitchen and a shower/WC share the brightly lit space with a sleeping area. Perfect for a couple searching for a quiet location in reach of all the major sights and within walking distance of Barga. There is an additional shared drinks terrace. Rental is €350 - €450.
The picturesque and lively town of Barga is situated at the base of the Appennine Mountains, 410 metres above sea level, a 40-minute drive from Lucca. Barga Vecchia (the old town) is a charming network of narrow streets, archways and winding stairways, containing several cafes, restaurants, shops, and a theatre. Barga Giardino (the new town) offers many shops, restaurants, a cinema, public swimming pool, and a Saturday morning market. There is a Sunday antique market in Barga once a month.
