Elegantly spread over two floors, this villa for rental in Tuscany is grouped around a comfortable central drawing room on the ground floor and surrounded by an extensive and enchanting well-kept garden terraced over three levels.
Stone lions guard the tall gates of the Villa Spada, and the gardens are shaded by a centuries-old lime tree famous throughout the region. The villa, ideally placed outside Lucca, Tuscany, Italy, will be ideal for discerning groups, who want high comfort in a secluded environment.
On the ground floor, French windows lead out from the drawing room onto a terrace with tables and chairs overlooking a small walled formal garden with a view over the hills of Lucca beyond. A few steps lead down to an extensive lawned terrace and a swimming pool, rimmed with borders of old roses, irises and hydrangea bushes. The pool is only accessible through a gate, which can be closed to guarantee the safety of small children. Lawns also lead up to the entrance of the house, framed by cypress trees, hibiscus and lemon trees in terracotta vases and the age-old spreading lime tree.
A country idyll, the Villa Spada is the essence of Lucca, of Tuscany, of Italy. The kitchen is fully equipped and there are five spacious bedrooms all of which have splendid views. They have been decorated in an elegant country house style with pastel-washed walls, wooden bedsteads, paintings and other antiques belonging to the family. The ground floor comprises an entrance hall, sitting room with French windows to the terrace, a smaller sitting room with fireplace, TV room, dining room, kitchen and cloakroom.
The upper floor has a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, one twin or double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a further double, twin and two single rooms. There are two further bathrooms and a laundry.
The garden has a 12 x 6m fenced swimming pool, pergola with table and chairs next to the pool, terrace with table and chairs off the main living room, a large lawn in front of the house, and a small formal walled-in garden at the back of the house.
A maid comes in three hours a day five days a week (from Monday to Friday). More household help is available upon request. There is also a gardener.
Included in your rental is telephone, fax, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, large fridge and large freezer, iron and ironing board, CD stereo, TV with DVD player and a hairdryer. The bedroom windows have screens.
