Twenty minutes away by car, Lucca is one of the most enchanting towns in Tuscany. Stroll along the wide avenues atop the ancient city walls or in the narrow streets with their 99 churches. Browse among the old-fashioned boutiques, sipping a cappuccino at one of the many bars, tasting the best ice-cream, visiting the richly endowed museums ... the city is a sheer delight and within minutes of your Tuscany rental villa.

And there are many famous villas around Lucca. Some of these historic houses are open to the public and a few have internationally renowned gardens, all of which make for highly rewarding sightseeing while you’re staying in the area.

Pisa is 20km away, Florence 80km and Siena 120km. There are sandy beaches 30 minutes away on the Versilian Coast, and resorts such as Viareggio and the fashionable Forte dei Marmi with lively bars, designer shopping and some of the best seafood restaurants in Italy.

Pisa airport is at 25km and 30 minutes away, while Florence airport is 80km and an hour distant. Lucca has a train station and an exit from the motorway.

Weekly 2009 prices for this villa for rental in Tuscany (up to eight guests) are as follows.

Low Season: €4580. From 1 January to 4 April, from 7 November to 31 December.
Mid Season 1: €5900. From 4 April to 30 May, from 3 October to 7 November.
Mid Season 2: €6500. From 30 May to 27 June, from 29 August to 3 October.
High Season: €7200. From 27 June to 29 August.

Check in at the Villa Spada is on Saturdays between 4 and 7pm. Check out is Saturdays before 10 am. Rates are per week and include household help, electricity, water, weekly change of linen and final cleaning. Extra charges include central heating (which is expensive in Italy), wood for the fireplace. 50% of the rent is to be paid on booking, the rest on arrival. Upon arrival guests are asked for €1000 (traveller cheques or cash) as a security deposit for any eventual damage or breakage which may occur during the stay. At the end of the stay the deposit is returned, unless it has to be used partly or fully for any damage. Please read our Terms and Conditions for more information.

The number of persons staying at this Tuscany rental villa cannot be higher than the number of beds initially stated. Should you cancel, the following rates will apply: 10% of the total rent up to 4 months (120 days) before the date of arrival; 50% up to two months (60 days) before the date of arrival; 100% as from the 59th day before arrival. Should the owners manage to rent the house partly or fully for the cancelled period they will of course refund you accordingly.
