Holiday rentals Tuscany - Located at the foot of the mountains of Pistoia, surrounded by 30,000m² of trees and amid Tuscan hills clad with olive groves, lies the Villa Cappugi. Built at the end of the 17th century, it is the perfect venue for a stylish vacation in Tuscany.

The restaurant, with its beamed ceiling, can accommodate up to 35, and on the ground floor a small hall with a beamed ceiling called Saletta can accommodate up to 20. Next door, the Sala delle volte, featuring a typical Tuscan red-brick vaulted ceiling, can accommodate up to 44. Sala delle volte has a big door leading to the garden, next to the pool and the courts, where each spring tables are laid out to serve customers coming out of the pool or those wishing a more informal lunch. It can accommodate up to 60 guests. In the gardens, a gazebo can accommodate some 130 guests: the gazebo is surrounded by trees providing a cooling atmosphere on the summer evenings.

Nearby is the thermal resort of Montecatini Terme, surrounded by mediaeval villages. Visit the Verdi Theatre, the funicular railway that climbs the hill to mediaeval Montecatini Alto, or Monsummano Terme with its grottoes and hot water springs.

Visit Pescia and its famous flower market and Montecarlo: surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, it's the source of the famous Bianco di Montecarlo wine. Montevettolini, meanwhile, is a typical mediaeval village with an enviable view over the whole Valdinievole. 50 minutes away by car lies Versilia with the Torre del Lago Puccini. Then on to Viareggio, where in February the famous Carnival takes place.

Your hosts organise a series of itineraries, helping you to make the most of your vacation in Tuscany. There is the art city of Pistoia, with its 13th century cathedral, and beautiful palazzi. The children will enjoy a trip to the zoo.

See Florence and the Piazza Santa Maria Novella in the heart of the city, Cathedral Square, the Baptistry, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Belfry of Giotto. There is the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo degli Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens and much more.

Lucca is a beautiful walled mediaeval city (the best way to see the city is to walk or cycle the wide, 4km city wall). Walk to the tranquil Piazza San Martino, where lies the most important religious building of the City: the Cathedral of San Martino, built in the Romanesque style in the 12th century. There is the romantic Piazza del Mercato, the Santa Maria Forisportam church, and the National Museum of Villa Guinigi and plenty more to see.

Your visit to Pisa starts from Campo dei Miracoli or the Cathedral square. The 12th century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta sits opposite the monumental Baptistry and alongside the Torre Pendente. You'll see the 16th century Botanic Gardens, a host of important mediaeval churches and head out to explore the natural parks around the city.

Siena starts with the Piazza del Campo, the scallop-shaped 'square' where the famous Palio takes place. Siena has a stunning black and white marble cathedral and a host of beautiful buildings arrayed along its spiralling pedestrianised streets.

You can visit the fascinating old port of Livorno (Leghorn to the British who visited here in times past) and then on to the Isle of Elba and the Tuscan Archipelago, with the islands of Giglio, Capraia, Montecristo, Pianosa, Gorgona and Giannutri. On Elba you can see Napoleon's house and the Roman excavations. There are good beaches and there is marvellous climbing on the rocks of the island.

Or there is a marvellous excursion to discover Chianti - the perfect way to explore the scenery, architecture, churches, towns, food, and of course wine, of this beautiful region of Tuscany.
