In the heart of Chianti, 8km from San Gimignano, sits Poderi Arcangelo (view a map of our location in Tuscany). This is a family run farm set within 23 hectares of vineyards and olive groves that produce Chianti DOCG, Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, IGT wines aged in barrique, and extra virgin olive oil DOP. We have been offering accommodation to visitors to our beautiful land since 1992 in three renovated farm houses, Arcangelo's, San Raffaello's and Capezzano's.
Staying here you will be within striking distance of all of the historic wonders that lie within the bounds of Tuscany. Apart from the mediæval gem that is San Gimignano, with its famous towers, there are many other cities within a short drive; Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, is only 58km away, Siena is 35km away and Volterra 45km. If you want to explore further afield you can go by train, the station is only 3km from the apartments, as are the shops and supermarket, in the town of Certaldo. The region surrounding Poderi Arcangelo is rich not just in history but in wine and olive oil as well. It would be a crime not to make the most of your stay in this wondrous region by sampling some of the best wines in the world, you can try and purchase direct from most vineyards, including our own. We are happy to do tasting's of our wines, and also to provide lunch to go with the wines.
We have a swimming pool for you to cool off in after a hard days exploring, a ping pong table, and a lovely garden for you to relax in and soak up the sun. We can also provide the services of a restaurant if you care to place a reservation.
