Podere Campeccioli is a typical old stone farmhouse. Sitting among vineyards and olive trees, it has panoramic views over the green valley of the Merse River. It has been recently restored conserving many of the original features, and is now divided into four comfortable bedrooms, each with private en-suite shower bathroom. You can choose from three double bedrooms (all large enough for an extra bed) and a triple bedroom.
The living room is on the ground floor. There, the English-speaking owners, Luca and Loredana, will serve you breakfast with milk, coffee, biscuits and home-made cakes, jam, a variety of herbal teas and, of course, fresh Tuscan bread from the bakery nearby. During summer, under the warm morning sun, you can have your breakfast in the garden and meet other guests of the B&B.
Your hosts will be happy to provide you with any information you need on what to do in the area. Luca loves horse riding and good Tuscan food and wines, and will organise tours to farms and wineries near-by, where you can taste wine and olive oil. If you enjoy riding, Luca can lead you through the some of the most beautiful Sienese countryside on horseback trips which can take a few hours or - if you wish - even a few days.
Loredana meanwhile, who regularly organises groups focusing on spiritual growth, will be glad to welcome you onto one of the courses. Experts on hand include Tarang, who leads Reiki courses and is also a skilled masseuse - the ideal way to unwind after an excursion or a day on horseback. The picture would not be complete without the two friendly dogs of the house, Asia and Benjamin, and the many friends, together creating a cheerful and unique atmosphere for your Tuscan holiday.
The nearest village is Casciano di Murlo, a typical southern Tuscan village where you will find a grocery shop, two good pizzerias, a bank, a post office, bus stop, tennis court and public swimming pool.
Daily rates per person range from EURO €20 in low season, through €25 in mid season to €30 in high season and festival times. Breakfast is available on request at €5 per person; there is a single bedroom supplement of €15, and a third-bed reduction of €2 per person. A baby cot for infants up to three years is available at €5 per night. Children between 3 and 12 years have a 20 per cent reduction and there is a 10 per cent discount for weekly stays. Pets are allowed, at a flat charge of €15. Cleaning of the room and change of towels takes place every third night, and bed sheets are changed weekly. Extra daily cleaning is available for €10. Check-in is from 1pm till 7pm.
Podere Campeccioli is the perfect starting point for visiting historic towns in Tuscany such as Siena (about 20 km away), Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and the beautiful beaches of the Tuscan coast.
