In the middle of Chianti, the world famous wine region that is the heart of Tuscany (view a map of the region), Agriturismo Le Cantine has created two excellently appointed apartments within the working farm. The farm produces wines (three varieties, including a Chianti, of course) and olive oil. The picture above shows the beautiful rural setting that you will be staying in. The vineyards start outside your door and march up the surrounding hillsides providing you with a stunning backdrop for your holiday in Tuscany.
Le Cantine is in the Elsa valley, only ten minutes away from San Gimignano, perhaps one of the most famous small towns in all of Italy. The closest town is Poggibonsi which is only 3km away ( View on Google Map | map of Tuscany ). It is a mixture of both old and new; the old town sits above the modern one, and is well worth a visit. In addition to Poggibonsi and San Gimignano, it is only a short drive to the cultural centres of Florence, Siena, Volterra, Lucca and many other sites of interest.
The apartments are formed from newly renovated farm outbuildings that blend the traditional features of these structures with the comforts of modern living. There are two apartments for rent, Segatoio and Stalla. There is also a swimming pool available for your use.
Segatoio (sleeps 2+2)
This apartment has been created out of what used to be the storage area for
cattle feed. It has been tastefully decorated and comprises a double bedroom,
bathroom and a living room with a small kitchen and sofa bed.
Stalla (sleeps 4+2)
This larger apartment is constructed out of the old cow sheds. It consists
of a large living room equipped with a kitchen and a sofa bed, and two double
bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms.
The living room has a beautiful ceiling and a large arch that leads through to the bathrooms.
All prices quoted are in Euro € - prices are shown for high season and all other times of the year. High season is from 25th of June - 10 September, the Christmas period and Easter.
Each flat is equipped with central heating.
