Le Capanne di Sopra is located 1.4km from the mediaeval village of Montefollonico. Situated in a panoramic position above the Montepulciano valley, it sits next to the fifteenth century church of St Biagio.
The property includes two stone farmhouses, each sleeping six, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and woods. Both have been restored in accordance with Tuscan traditions, and carefully furnised to offer a genuine and cosy atmosphere.
To preserve the rural character of the site the owner chose not to build a swimming pool. There ara several pools and thermal spa nearby.
Both houses and gardens enjoy a marvellous view over the valley, with the skyline of Montepulciano to the south, Mount Amiata to the west, and the hill of Montefollonico to the north. Montefollonico itself provides everything you'll need day to day - with food shops, post office, bank, pharmacy, restaurants, and bar. Also check out a number of good local markets, at Montepulciano, Sinalunga, Montefollonico and more.
A private unmade road links the house to the main road, ensuring that you'll be holidaying in quiet and undisturbed Tuscan countryside. But Le Capanne can be reached in just 30 minutes drive from the Valdichiana exit of the Rome-Florence Highway.

There is a host of historical and cultural sites nearby. Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona, Chiusi, Monte San Savino, Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Lake Trasimeno are all within 75 minutes' drive. And the thermal spas and bathing at Chianciano, Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo and Rapolano are no more than half hour's drive away. There are three swimming pools within 10km, and tennis courts, horse riding and mountain bike hire nearby.
There is parking area on the estate for guests, and the houses contain baby cots and high chairs. There are barbecues inside the houses, wood is available, and there are sun chairs. The houses have washing machines and fax machines. And while you're here, sample the farm's excellent home produce, including Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG wine and extra virgin olive oil.
