Villa La Luna has a large fenced garden, with a furnished patio for al fresco meals, and a large (14x6m) swimming pool with a marvellous view of the valley. The scenery is striking: a rolling land of hills, woods and vineyards, laced with clear running rivers and dotted with crumbling mediæval castles and ancient farms.
The villa is situated just outside the walled village of Radicondoli (a pleasant uphill walk of just under a kilometre for the energetic). The village has several traditional restaurants and should be able to cater for most of your holiday needs.
This part of Tuscany [local map | map of Tuscany] is noted for its geothermic activity, with numerous thermal spas including the famous Bagni delle Galleraie (15km). The area was settled long before the Etruscans and there are many historical sites of interest to visit.
The towers of San Gimignano and the Etruscan stronghold of Volterra are within 45 minutes' drive, and Tuscany's two most important cities, Siena (40km) and Florence (69km), shouldn't be missed. The sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are an hour away. Some more distances: Pisa 110km, Bologna 170km, Rome 270km.
