Pietrafitta and the surrounding farmhouses are rich in history, while the fertile soil produces the world-renowned Vernaccia grapes. Construction of the main villa began in the early 16th century and was finally completed by the influential Acciaioli family in 1584. Ten years later the property came into the possession of the Archbishop of Pisa, Carlo Antonio Dal Pozzo.

Now the estate offers some of the finest San Gimignano accommodation in Tuscany, Italy.

Fast forward to more modern times, the year 1867, when Maria Vittoria Dal Pozzo married Amedeo, The Duke of Aosta, son of King Vittorio Emanuele II. Now Pietrafitta became the official summer residence of Her Royal Highness, Princess Maria Vittoria, Duchess of Aosta. The property flourished under the careful watch of the House of Savoy, employing as many as 320 people to work the lands and harvest the grapes and olives on the estate. The property is now owned by a company and managed by Mr PierPaolo Murri, whose dedication allows Pietrafitta to continue to flourish and grow.

If you have a passion for truly fine wine; want inspiration for painting landscapes; enjoy endless subjects for photography; or just take pleasure in listening to birds sing on a nature walk, it is time you discovered Pietrafitta.
