The old farm of Pietreto lies on a hilltop, 485m above sea level in the heart of Chianti, some 27km from Florence and 30km from Siena. These Chianti holiday rentals, two apartments each sleeping four, lie between the medieval villages of San Donato (3km) and Castellina (6km), in the centre of the Chianti Classico wine-growing area. The holiday apartments are surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, orchards and woods.
In 1905 the Marquise Roti improved the house, incorporating pietra serena framed double-arched windows, and having frescoes painted on some of the wood-beamed ceilings.
The old barn dates from the 18th century. Recently restored and comfortably furnished, it comprises two apartments with their own front doors and parking spaces. Both have independent heating and satellite television, and both are surrounded by splendid private gardens (equipped with garden furniture) giving superb views over the hills and valleys of Chianti. There is a barbecue for you to use and a table tennis table. Pets are accepted by prior arrangement.
Apartment Lisa (85m²) is on the upper floor of the barn. It has a living-room with an open fireplace and satellite TV; a dining room; a well-equipped kitchen area; a double bedroom; twin bedroom; a bathroom with shower, and a storage cupboard. The private garden has a 5 x 4 metres gazebo with wooden table and benches. You can dine al fresco while enjoying a spectacular view.
Apartment Leo (70m²) is on the lower floor of the barn. It has a living room with satellite TV; a well-equipped kitchen; a double bedroom; a twin bedroom; a bathroom with shower. The private garden has a table and chairs, again ideal for dining outdoors and soaking up the view.
With garden lighting you can also use the pool at night. The 12 x 6m pool has hydro massage, and is surrounded by a sundeck, lots of green spaces, olive trees and old stone walls. The shower has a solar panel. Deckchairs and umbrellas are available ... and the views are superb.
