Here in the midst of this rich tapestry of life, just two kilometres from the charming village of Chiusure down a winding road with a stunning panorama of these magical hills, sits this unique gem.

Built in 1295 with rich golden orange bricks fashioned out of the surrounding clay earth of these magical hills, the house has a wonderful sense of flow and grace. It is so much more than just a place to stay, La Tranquilla offers a rich experience in elegant country living. It is a place to indulge the senses, and more importantly, to be indulged.

Your hosts are Susana Hayman-Chaffey, a former prima ballerina with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and Ivo Bufalini, a true Tuscan artisan who designs and makes furniture. They are an eclectic and international couple with very good taste and a mind for luxury and comfort.

The dimora is furnished with one of a kind artist or architect designed pieces and on its walls hang paintings and lithographs. The linens are of the finest cotton, the tableware is varied and includes a large variety of tableware from the Amalfi coast, from Deruta and Wedgewood bone china.
