Radda and Gaiole are two key production centres for Chianti Classico wine, and the villa lies on a large farm of some 500 acres, the Fattoria di Vistarenni. Guests can enjoy pleasant walks along marked pathways, go biking or mountain-biking nearby, ride horseback through the countryside or at the nearby equestrian facility, or play golf at a course just 30km away. All apartments have the use of outdoor areas and a portable barbecue. Villa Vistarenni is 45km from Florence, 30km from Siena and 55km from Arezzo.
The 16th century Villa Vistarenni itself dominates the countryside from a hilltop 500 metres above sea level. The villa, a former property of the Florentine Strozzi Family, and later of the Sonnino Family, (major figures in the early Italian governments) now belongs to the Tognana Family.
Vistarenni is an Etruscan name, and stems from Fistarinne - the name of a small, fortified settlement that, in the year 1000AD, lay where the villa stands nowadays. Underneath the villa there are old cellars cut into the rocks, vaulted with brickwork, and topped by large halls that can host meetings, conventions and receptions for up to 150 people.

Apartment La Villa, a summer residence of the owners, may on request be leased year round, as it is centrally heated. It is a perfect solution for those who love the countryside but don’t wish to leave the comforts of modern life. The rooms fronting the private garden are very homely, and the large living room on the first storey is beautifully relaxing, with its large fireplace.
All four bedrooms have private bathrooms, and the windows overlooking the Chianti hillside offer unforgettable views. The villa sleeps seven over some 500m². On the ground floor are an entrance hall, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. The first floor has a study/drawing room, living room, two king-size bedrooms with bathrooms with bathtubs, one double bedroom with bathroom with bathtub, and a single bedroom with bathroom with shower.
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, telephone, TV and a private garden. There is a swimming pool of 12x5m and a pay tennis court (each shared with the apartments).
