Italy apartments - These self-catering and B&B apartments, within a lovely old farm, offer relaxing and rejuvenating vacations in Italy's lovely region of Umbria. Enjoy the fruits and produce of this working agriturismo. On request full board accommodation can be arranged.
The farm and old abandoned farmhouse were discovered in 1999 by Francesco and Monia Micci. They were struck not only by the beautiful location overlooking a charming part of Lake Trasimeno, but also by the energy of the place, combining the austerity of stone buildings with a pristine natural environment - a harmony of colours, scents, and sounds.
They decided to rebuild the place, to create a vacation venue that would be a place for gathering, for well-being, for spiritual replenishment.
The Cantico della Natura holiday farm is in Vocabolo la Penna in Montesperello di Magione, amid the green Umbrian hills with a splendid view of Lake Trasimeno, some 450 above sea level. Just 5km from the Autostrada, the farm is easily reached and in a strategic position for visiting Umbria and central Italy (3km from Lake Trasimeno, 15km from Perugia, 35km from Assisi, 70km from Siena, 120km from Florence, 200 km from Rome). We are easily reached by all means of transportation and from various roads and directions.
The house is well placed for quick access from the motorways, buses connect with Perugia and trains from both Florence-Rome and Perugia stop at Magione station, only 3km from Il Cantico della Natura; you will be met and accompanied to the farm. Perugia airport (with daily flights to Milan and Rome and special flights in summer) is 30km away: a 20-minute taxi ride.

Entirely secluded (the village of Montesperello and the nearest farmhouse are 1km away), the farmhouse stands in a clearing where centuries-old olive trees grow, and which opens onto the lake after passing through a wood. Fed by a spring that in the past filled the reservoirs of all of Montesperello, the farmhouse was home to a number of families all living together (about 20 persons) who grew olives and grain and raised livestock. Many old-timers who were born and lived in the casale still remember the hard work and the pleasant evenings spent before the fireplace with the accordion. Even today they enjoy taking part in the running of the farm.
The house is built entirely from local stone and divided into two connected wings. The southeast wing goes back to the early 1800s and the north wing was constructed in the early 1900s; they harmonise into a single L-shaped building which receives direct sunlight from dawn to dusk, glittering on the waters of Lake Trasimeno, creating an enchanting place for relaxation.
There are two independent, but communicating and soundproof apartments. The mini apartment sleeps 2+1 and is composed of a "November" bedroom, kitchen and a bathroom. The "Autumn apartment" has 2 bedrooms (December) and can be connected with the "November" bedroom, therefore, accommodating 6+2 guests. There is also a kitchen and two bathrooms.
