Near to the Tuscan border, within the Pausillo Regional Natural Park, these Umbria rentals are the ideal spot for experiencing the peace and relaxation of the Italian countryside … yet with the artistic and cultural delights of Umbria and Tuscany close by.
The nine Green Tree apartments lie in a large enclosed park of some 10,000m². And these gardens lie within a larger estate covering 120,000m², a mix of olive trees and Mediterranean woodland. Each apartment has its own outside patio and/or a porch with tables, chairs and surrounding deckchairs. You have at your disposal a swimming pool with solarium, equipped areas for barbecues, games for the children, mountain bikes, and private and shaded parking.
The cottages have been delicately restored, using traditional methods and materials where possible ... a mix of chestnut beams, hand-made bricks and tiles, and local stone for exteriors. The rooms are charmingly furnished and decorated with local antiques, and old farm tools, once part of everyday life here — these Umbria rentals are a marvellous mix of the old and the new.
The property sits atop a hill, 400 metres above sea level, and is surrounded by olive groves — more than 400 olive trees here produce a superb olive oil. There are extensive woods with Mediterranean undergrowth underfoot. Overhead rise trees including evergreen oaks, hornbeams, junipers and pines. There is even an age-old cork tree, a real rarity among the local flora. The brushwood is rich in shrubs such as broom, heather, dog roses, hawthorn and blackberry bushes.
Two small streams flow along the lower reaches of the hill and mark the limits of the estate. These Umbria rentals lie in an area rich in wildlife, including pheasant, partridge, turtledoves, thrushes, wood pigeon and woodcock. You may also be lucky enough to see wild boar and hares. There are numerous paths heading off into the Pausillo Regional Natural Park, perfect for nature walks or bicycle riding.
[ local map | map of region ]The Umbria rentals comprise seven apartments in the main building plus a further two in another building 2km away. All apartments have their own heating and a kitchen with dishwasher, microwave oven and refrigerator. Each has a small safe, telephone, satellite television, and outdoor tables and chairs.
La Quercia sleeps 4+2 on the ground floor. The flat has a living room with kitchen, day beds and fireplace. There is a double room, a small double room and two bathrooms. The living room and one of the bedrooms have an exit onto the portico.
