Near Perugia in Umbria, this country house is an oasis of peace, it offers self-catering holiday apartments in a tiny 13th century hamlet - comfortable holiday accommodation with excellent facilities, a 15 x 8 pool and cookery and painting courses, cultural and archeological mini tour on demand. The place is delightful base to visit Umbria or just to have a rest.

Palazzi Rufini is a small hamlet in Capocavallo, Corciano. Back in the year 1200 it was a warning tower, on the borders of the Duchy of Corgna’s lands. This important Umbrian family produced numerous prelates and leaders for the region.

Over the following centuries the solitary tower became a palace, a lodge for travellers, a hunting pavilion, a resting place for horses, or a place to stay for the wayfarer from Perugia or for those crossing Italy from one sea to the other.

In about 1880 it was purchased by the Rufini family and became the centre of a flourishing farm, dedicated to the cultivation of the mulberry tree and the silkworm. Next, the palace and the villa became dedicated to grape and olive growing.

It has been completely renovated and restructured from the foundations up, returning as a splendid country-house. The farm is rigorously organic and dedicated to vegetables, fruit and olive growing. There are kennels nearby, so you are welcome to bring your dogs. At guests' disposal there is an international book library containing French, German, Swedish and English books.

The five apartments are furnished in subtle good taste, with rustic and antique family furniture. The kitchens are completely equipped, with washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven, plates and pans. They are also stocked with salt, pepper, herbs, spices, oil, vinegar, onions, garlic and detergent for the dishwasher and plates. There is a single room with a bathroom, which can only be rented along with one of the apartments.

About 1 km away there is a horse-riding centre with tennis courts. Not too far away, about 5 km, there will be one of the most delightful golf clubs opening shortly.
The structure of the main house, the five apartments and the common spaces on the ground floor are ideal to celebrate special events like weddings and anniversaries for 30/40 people in winter and for 80/100 people in summer.

It possible to rent the whole property for a minimum of 22 to a maximum of 29 people, for a special week end family reunion or a specific periodo during the year.
The rent includes: Consumption of water, light and the gas for the kitchen, sheets, blankets, towels, use of the swimming pool and garden, kitchen basics, ping pong, barbecue.

Conditions of payment: 30% on account to the reservation. Balance of the entire amount to the arrival. Caution money. Credit cards accepted. Check in 15.30 - 18.30. Check out 10.00.

Prices for 2008:

High season: July and August (minimum stay of one week), Christmas period, Easter, long week-ends, “Eurochocolate” (Perugia’s Chocolate Festival in October).
Medium season: May, June, September.
Low season: rest of the year.

Added Costs: Extra bed €15.00. Final cleaning: €50.00 (weekly); €20.00 (week-end). Swimming-towels: €5.00 one a week. Mountain bikes: €20.00 per week. Iron and ironing-board: €5.00. Archery: €10.00 per day. Heating: €10.00 per day, per apartment (only in winter). Internet point: €5.00 for 30 minutes. Fire-wood: €5.00 (10 kg). Mid-week cleaning: €25.00.

Prices don't include breakfast, heating during the winter, cleaning and soaps, and final cleaning of the apartment (€50). There are charges for the internet point, TV satellite decoder, mountain bikes, table tennis, table football, badminton, shooting, firewood.

There is a fine wine cellar with regional and Italian wines and (subject to season) productc of farm, including fruit, olive oil and marmalades. On request, a cook can prepare meals, snacks and suppers, up to 30 people, in the Palazzo Rufini dining room.
