Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, cultivated fields and rural villages, these Umbria vacation rentals lie on the borders with Tuscany, and sleep from two to nine guests.

Nestling in the hills that stretch from Lake Trasimeno to Lake Chiusi, the holiday farm at Poggio del Sole is a haven of tranquility and relaxation, as well as an ideal starting point for getting to know Umbria and Tuscany.

The spacious grounds have many amenities including an over-sized swimming pool, solarium, bicycles, bocce, a children's play area and barbecue facilities. Or just take a leisurely stroll among the olive groves and oak trees.

Poggio del Sole was originally an old farmhouse of stone and brick. Together with the adjacent barn, it has recently been rebuilt and made into Umbria vacation rentals: seven apartments with all the comforts of home.

Apartments vary in capacity from two beds to nine. With their own entrances and private grassed areas, each apartment was rebuilt maintaining the original architectural style as much as possible, and in the rustic style of the region: simple and welcoming.

Each of these Umbria vacation rentals has a lounge with settee and kitchen area, one or more bedrooms, and a bathroom with shower. Outside there is a patio table with chairs, chaise longues and a patio umbrella. There is independent heating and satellite TV.

High season is July and August. Mid season runs mid-May to June, plus September, Easter, Christmas and New Year. Low season is October through to mid-May. Type A apartments, sleeping nine, are EURO €825 high season, €600 mid season, €425 low season. Type B, sleeping four, are €590, €480 and €290. Type C, sleeping 2+2 are €480, €365 and €230. Type D, sleeping two, are €365, €285 and €200.

Bookings on these Umbria vacation rentals are on a week-to-week basis (Saturday to Saturday) in the high season. During the rest of the year other lengths of stay may be arranged.

The above prices include kitchen and bath towels and bed linens. They also include cleaning at the end of the stay, and the use of electricity and gas for the kitchen. When appropriate, however, gas use for room heating is provided at an additional cost, depending on usage. Upon request, an additional bed or cot is available for €30.

In the grounds of Poggio del Sole and amongst centuries-old olive trees, there are two areas prepared for those guests who are lovers of the open air life. One is intended for a tent and has a wooden platform, 4x4 metres square. The other, more suitable for a caravan, is 5x6 metres square.

Close to the apartments and the swimming pool, are a table and chairs and facilities for connecting electricity and tap water. Under the pool are two toilets (one for the exclusive use of guests), and two showers. Also available are a washing machine, refrigerator, and deep freeze.
