Countryside rentals in Italy - Outside Todi, Umbria, lies Torre D'Orlando. Offering luxury vacation accommodation in a 13th century Italian castle, and sleeping 12 or more, this is a very special Umbrian holiday.
The castle is one of the most beautiful and best-conserved in all Umbria, dating back to 1250. Situated on a hilltop, 600 metres above sea level, it enjoys a 360° panorama, overlooking the lands surrounding Todi, and with magnificent views of the surrounding hamlets. Enclosed by tall walls it dominates the surrounding hills and sits within 20 hectares of grounds, completely enclosed and beautifully cultivated. Horses and deer are raised on the estate, and there are olive groves, vineyards and fruit trees.
The owners, occasionally present, live in one wing. The other wing, completely independent, is yours. There is a lookout tower reserved for the guests, and within this part of the castle a luxurious holiday home has been created, evoking the mediaeval spirit of the castle. Due to the various walkways along the walls of the castle, this accommodation is not advised for children younger than 12 years old.

On the ground floor there is a large pergola, equipped with a stone table and iron chairs. There is a spacious living room with a fireplace and with two doorways out into the grounds and the pergola. The dining room seats 14, and there is a spacious kitchen with access from the garden.
On the first floor is a double suite with a bathroom with tub, and a twin-bedded suite with a bathroom with tub. On the second floor is a double suite with bathroom with bath, and two further double suites. Between the two bedrooms there is a living room and a bathroom with bath. A wooden staircase from the living room leads up to an overhead gallery (the low ceiling varies between 1.20 metres and 1.60 metres) with a single bed.
Along an external walkway, which winds along the highest part of the surrounding wall, you reach the top floor of the tower. Here lies another suite of 30 square metres and with a 20 square metre overhead gallery. It includes a spacious living room with panoramic views, a bathroom with bath and a double bed in the overhead gallery. Your Umbrian holiday accommodation includes TV, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and telephone.
