There is plenty to see nearby. Within 5km lie Castelbrando and Follina Abbey. Cison di Valmarino, an historic castle surrounded by 50 verdant hectares of park, is known as ‘Castelbrando’ and is one of the largest and oldest castles in Europe. At one time it was used as a fort to defend the Roman Claudia-Augusta-Altinate road. Now accessible by a funicular railway, the castle offers a wonderful panoramic view and includes an interesting museum that displays weapons from the Middle Ages.

In the centre of Follina, visit the impressive Abbey of Santa Maria (14th century), inhabited by Benedictine monks (Benedettini) since the Middle Ages.

If you long to immerse yourself in unspoiled nature, there is the opportunity to cycle or hike in the hills. Explore the history and the flora and fauna of the area at your own pace, surrounded by incomparable countryside. Give up the car for a while and choose from one of the official Treviso routes, offering the most suitable way on foot, by bike or horseback. 30km away, there are two golf clubs.

The wineries of the region let you taste excellent DOC wines such as Prosecco and Cartizze. You can also enjoy the rare beauty of the vineyards, which explode with vivid colours in autumn, the time of the grape harvest and the season for mushrooms and chestnuts. The ‘Marca Treviso’ can be crossed from east to west in order to discover the wine-producing companies, vineyards and wine bars where visitors can taste red and white DOC wines: the ‘Strada del Prosecco’ winds through the hills connecting Conegliano to Valdobbiadene and was the first wine road created in Italy. You will taste Cabernet, Pinot, Merlot, Tokai, Verduzzo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Raboso … and Prosecco.

Around 40km away are the Revine and Santa Croce Lakes, ideal for lovers of aquatic sports such as windsurfing, sailing and canoeing.

Treviso lies 40km away and is an elegant city whose charming medieval town centre is enclosed by 16th century walls and criss-crossed by the many water courses that flow into the river Sile. The city is renowned for its hospitality, its works of art, museums and international exhibitions. It also has elegant shops, friendly bars, beautiful squares,buildings of historical significance, festivals, local traditions, and culinary delights.

The Venetian villas, scattered like huge sculptures throughout the region, are part of the historic and artistic heritage, along with the parks and gardens. There are as many as 768 of these extraordinary buildings in the Marca of Treviso , some famous, others unknown to the general public. Three are by Palladio: Villa Barbaro at Maser, Villa Emo Capodilista at Fanzolo di Vedelago and Villa Zeno at Donegal at Cessalto.

And of course, being close to Treviso and the Alps, you are also on the fringes of the Dolomites. 70km away, these breathtaking mountains offer a host of activities. In summer, the explosion of nature's colours awakens the desire to explore. Hiking, climbing, and mountain biking are among the many options available.In winter, the white slopes beckon with opportunities for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and numerous other winter sports.

Then there is Venice. Cosmopolitan and exotic, crossroads of oriental and occidental culture, this romantic city has a unique architecture in which water is both the essence and the future threat. Enjoy the endless canals and bridges and the many historic sites, such as St Mark's Square and the Doge’s Palace.
