A lovely choice for vacation accommodation in Italy, this Venice apartment is a bright and airy flat with a peaceful garden.
Casa Santa Marta is a corner of tranquillity few minutes away from the busiest Venetian spots. Fully furnished and with a private garden, the apartment sleeps two guests. This very bright and airy apartment is in one of few remaining residential neighbourhoods populated mainly by Venetians. The apartment is furnished with style and simplicity and offers the rare privilege of an ample private garden. The apartment comprises a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, gas cooker, kettle and iron with iron board, a double bedroom, bathroom with tub and shower, a living-dining room with TV and hi-fi stereo. From the living room you have access to the 30 square metre garden, partly shaded by a large fig tree. Barbecue facilities are also available.
The apartment is located in the Santa Marta neighbourhood in the Dorsoduro district of Venice's historic centre. Dorsoduro is home to the Guggenheim museum, Magazzini del Sale, the Salute church and the Zattere, a canal-side walk, scattered with bars and restaurant, facing the Giudecca island. Nearby is the Chiesa of San Niccolò dei Mendicoli, one of the oldest churches in Venice, founded in the last decades of the seventh century. It has been remodelled several times, and from the outside is a modest building but beside it rises an impressive square Veneto-Byzantine bell tower from the twelfth century. The church was the setting of the chilling and mysterious 1973 movie Don’t Look Now with Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie.
