Hotels in Venice - a bed and breakfast holiday hotel offering an unbeatable position just minutes from the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square.

The little street facing the hotel is a typical Venetian rio (river in old Venetian dialect) with little shops, selling hand-made Venetian costumes and masks - covering seven centuries from the 13th to the 19th - and pieces of Murano glass. This rio was once a large canal, which has been 'buried' to make a street. Two lovely canals, which you can see from some rooms of the hotel, line the rio to the left and right.

Photos found in the archives of the Venice Library Collection show the building as a private residence, occupying four floors around the first half of the 20th century; the outdoor of the ground floor was a fruit market. The property has only 11 rooms, which enables the utmost in attentive, personalised and friendly service.

A few metres from the hotel is the Chiesa dei Frari, one of the most impressive churches of Venice and built by the Franciscans in the 13th century. For those who wish to eat and drink while walking and discovering Venice, there is a mini-supermarket right in front of the hotel.

The beautifully light rooms were renovated and refurbished during 2002 and are now tastefully decorated in typical Venetian style (flowered wood furniture, lacquered in light colours from pale blue to yellow or green) and classic walnut wooden furniture. Most are very large and bright. On request, you can have a room with a small terrace or a balcony with a delightful view over the street. There are rooms with private bathrooms and rooms that share shower and toilets with two other rooms. Every room has at least a bidet and a washbasin and is provided with towels.

Breakfast can be served directly in the bedroom or in the breakfast room on the ground floor. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, croissants, bread, butter and compotes make the perfect start to your day. Orange juice, cornflakes and yogurt are available at extra cost.

On the ground floor is a large reception room with a sofa and four comfortable armchairs where guests can rest and relax. This is the main meeting point of the hotel where your hosts supply all the information you need to help you spend your holiday as real Venetians! Luggage can be left here under close supervision. Your hosts will also be happy to recommend some excellent restaurants at very reasonable prices, where you can enjoy the fresh ingredients and natural flavours of traditional Venetian cuisine.
