A two-star hotel in Venice (Venezia), the Hotel Arcadia is wedded deep to the history of the ancient Cannaregio district (or sestiere) in which it lies. The building is a palazzo dating back to the 1600s, for centuries the residence of an aristocratic Roman family. In the 1950s, the Spolaore family transformed it into a comfortable and friendly hotel. The Arcadia retains the classic atmosphere of a Venetian home - with exposed beams, large, light and airy rooms, and traditional furnishings - while bringing in the modern comforts you will expect. The district spreads from the Cannaregio Canal that runs through its heart (the old 'front door' into Venice before the railway came), with local attractions including the Ca' d'Oro, the Jewish Ghetto and the Sacca della Misericordia.
