The inspiration for this poetic tribute is the Palazzo Tiepoletto, belonging to the Passi family, whose origins go back to the years before Christ. The Palace was built in the 15th Century and is located right on the Grand Canal, between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. It borders the Palazzo Pisani Moretta and lies near the vaporetto stop of San Tomà.
Right next door to the Palazzo you will find the public gondola crossing the Grand Canal from San Tomà to San Samuele (near Palazzo Grassi). Water taxis drop you off at the entrance of the Palace, which has its own gate directly onto the Canal.
