The Ponte di Rialto is the most famous bridge in all of Venice, and was once the only way to cross the Grand Canal without using a boat. The bridge, like Florence's Ponte Vecchio, is an important artery and is lined with and surrounded by shops and markets. The bridge that now stands over the Grand Canal dates from the Renaissance (built in 1588-1591) and replaced the old wooden construction that originally stood here.
Apartment Rialto, a spacious apartment (measuring 80m2) is on the first floor of a converted Venetian palace and has been recently refurbished to a very high standard.
