Offering farm holidays near Verona and Lake Garda, Italy, Villa Spinosa offers an idyllic setting for enjoying the best of this beautiful region of Italy - on a working farm and winery famed for its superb production of classic Italian wines.
Villa Spinosa produces the full range of Valpolicella denomination wines using grapes grown in its own vineyards. These are the Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and Recioto della Valpolicella Classico. And Villa Spinosa has recently started a new activity - high quality self-catering accommodation aimed at those seeking a relaxing holiday, or weekend, in close contact with nature and countryside life. Once the centre of rural life, this old outhouse adjacent to the villa now houses Corte Spinosa.
The farm accommodation offers a charming base in a farming environment which encapsulates the history, culture and tradition of a very particular area. During their stay, guests may visit the winery, taste the wines and experience the various stages of wine making at first hand. From Corte Spinosa, guests may explore the area by car, motorbike, bicycle or mountain bike (these latter can be hired). From its splendid position, guests can practise many sports including cycling and trekking. There are many paths, which may be enjoyed on foot or by bike, which lead up through the vineyards, cherry plantations and olive groves. Corte Spinosa is an ideal location for those who want to spend a holiday or a weekend in the Valpolicella Classica countryside, land of the Amarone, and experience the life of a working winery.
Within this courtyard, building No 12 (Casa 12), once home to the sharecroppers, has now been fully renovated to offer countryside accommodation. Casa 12 is open all year round and sleeps a maximum of 6 people.
The entrance and kitchen are located on the ground floor of this three-storey building. The kitchen, fully equipped with kitchen appliances, crockery, cutlery and pans, allows guests to prepare full meals and take advantage of the local ingredients available. The old stone fireplace in the kitchen accentuates the rural atmosphere that surrounds Casa 12. The bathroom, with shower, is located on the first floor whilst the four bedrooms (two double and two single) are located in the completely restructured attic. All rooms are furnished in keeping with the rustic feel of Corte Spinosa and cots are available upon request. From the attic, guests have views over the north of Negrar, the easternmost valley of the three which make up the Valpolicella. Casa 12 is equipped with central heating and air-conditioning and the adjacent farm buildings provide car parking for guests.
Visitors wishing to explore the area may reach the pretty town of Negrar by foot in only five minutes and the breathtaking city of Verona is only 13 km away, whilst Lake Garda is a 20km drive away. Both the city's railway station (12 km) and airport (20 km) are linked to Negrar by regular bus services.
