Your hostess is a jewellery designer and has brought the same taste and imagination to the design of the suites for guests. Each is decorated with individual style. The sitting room and dining room, with windows opening onto the large terrace overlooking Verona, have the same trademark style. A northern style breakfast is served on the terrace, with ham, bread and jam and fresh fruit juice.
Verona is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, with the River Adige flowing slowly under the stone bridges of the Roman and mediaeval city and the massive structure of Castel San Pietro. Cypresses and olive trees surround century-old villas and in the distance loom the Apennine Mountains.
Facing south on the Torricelle Hills, this is a lovely position, cool in summer and warm in winter - perhaps the reason the Romans built their theatre here. The hills are ideal for walking through woods or country lanes, for hiring a horse or having a good meal in pleasant restaurants or pubs.
The Liberty Suite (42m²) is decorated in the Liberty style of the late 19th century. There is a double bedroom, a sitting room with a single sofa bed, a bathroom with shower and a private terrace.
The 19th Century Suite (44m²) is in the elaborate style of the 1800s, with dark wood furniture and luxuriant fabrics. It has a twin-bedded room, a sitting room with a single sofa-bed, a bathroom with tub and shower and a private terrace.
The Indian Suite (84m²) is decorated with fabrics, furnishings and rugs from the Indian continent. This is a very large family room with a king-size four-poster bed and a single sofa bed. There is a fireplace with divan and armchair, bathroom with shower and a private terrace.
All apartments have a baby’s crib, air conditioning, TV, hairdryer, shaver points, shampoo and soap. The Indian Suite has an electric fan. The 19th Century Suite is EURO €180 for two guests, the Liberty Suite is €165 for two, and the Indian Suite €205 for two. For short stays, prices range from €160 to €220 per night per two person, breakfast included.
Upon your arrival you will receive a welcome drink to introduce you to this peaceful B&B accommodation. Relax in the large living room overlooking Verona or, during the warmer months, on the terrace decked with plants. During your stay in Verona, your host and hostess will be glad to assist you with tourist enquiries, whether you wish to visit museums, churches, exhibitions (with qualified guides, if required) go shopping, look for local crafts, fairs and markets, or restaurants and inns.
The Alle Torricelle B&B offers tastings of a selection of wines such as Soave, Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto, all produced in the valley surrounding Verona. For those who are interested, there is also tasting of locally produced extra-virgin olive oil.
Check-in is from 7pm, check-out before 11am. A continental breakfast is included in your rental, as is heating. Your bill can be settled on arrival and your hosts speak English and French. Linen and towels are provided and frequently changed. The suites have a private terrace. There is a TV in each suite with Italian TV channels, but no satellite TV. There is air conditioning in the rooms, with no extra charge. There is a dining room and an internet/email point in the property.
The house has an open parking place in the garden, Avis and Hertz car rental is available at the airport and rail station. The nearest airport is Verona Catullo, 15km away. The property can be reached from the airports at Brescia (70km), Genova (300km) and Milan (150km). Guests arriving at Verona rail station can take a taxi to the property. The nearest bus stop is 100m from the property, the nearest railway station Verona Porta Nuova, 4km away. The nearest beach is at Lake Garda, 25km away. Pets are welcome.
