This modern family home is surrounded by a large private garden
near the top of a hill overlooking the sea along the Tuscany-Liguria
border. Although it is only 10 km from the shore, it is high
enough into the foothills of the Apuan Alps to provide cool
temperatures in summer, beautiful colours in autumn and heavily-scented
flowers in spring.
Just 300 metres down the road is the beautifully preserved mediaeval
hamlet of Peralta, whose cordial residents always extend a warm
welcome to newcomers. Because it is slightly off the beaten
track, this area offers a wonderful opportunity to experience
Italy as the Italians do, not merely as a foreign holiday destination.
